played turnberry kintyre today havent played it in years, gud laugh. it was only wet for about 4 holes on and off, so hid in the gorse. at the 8th (signature hole) it was hail and wind straight into your face, had to try walking with my eyes shut. yesterdays storm and rain had left a lot of water on some of the fairways and bunkers like ponds. but when we finished i was bone dry all thanks to Mr Galvin Green. wish i could play down their every day!

I had a game at Crieff today my first for 6 weeks, wind was really bad 50-60mph gusts also had a snow shower for a couple of holes.
Course was in good condition if a little wet underfoot but I was striking the ball well and was just glad to get out.

Same here mate took the 6 iron out for 126y and came up short :o other way it was PW from 160+

i love crieff, when i played the 36 hole there in september it was quite windy and some of the holes were playing mega long.the 450yrd 7th and and the 300yrd 8th was straight into a head wind.....very tough.

we knew it would be hit and miss weather but its only 40 mins away. joined up with a bloke who had travelled 2 hours himself!!!!!!!! (think he said he played out of Lauder Golf Club

Played at Mortonhall yesterday morning, thinking that the trees would keep it relatively sheltered. Wrong!!!!!! Great fun though!!! Got finished just as the heavens opened. :)

I played today in the worst winds we've had for a while (probably nothing compared to up north). It didn't help that I didn't play well, but I found myself getting really annoyed that the wind kept blowing my jacket collar into my cheek. It was as annoying as someone poking you in the shoulder every 5 seconds. Maybe I should find another hobby?

Pretty playable down in the shires today. Gusty wind made club selection interesting and one heavy shower for a couple of holes but other than that pretty good. I think going out in 20 points with a blow out at our 5th where I lost a ball helped (+1 gross for the 8 holes I played). What killed it was a three ball of lady members who jumped in at the 10th and held us up (sorry Amanda). They were on the 10th tee as we played the 9th and we then had to walk back through the car park to the 10th and they were still short of the green.

By the time we were called through on the 13th the damage was done and I'd lost my tempo and rythymn and then hurried for a couple of holes as we played through. Still the ball striking was pretty good for the most part. Playing tomorrow though and I think my luck weather wise is going to run out with heavy showers forecast

Phew - good effort getting out in that yesterday! I nearly went when it looked like clearing up fortunately the next squall started BEFORE I set out...

I'm surprised that it was so windy there today. Yesterday it was blowing a gale here with gusts of 87mph recorded on the Tay Road Bridge forcing it to close. Today seemed lighter but a lot colder. Roll on summer!

Clive,
We were close to calling it a day before finally deciding to head out, it was most def 4 seasons in one day we had snow, wind, rain and then glorious sunshine for 10 minutes only though.
Will give you a shout for a game if the weather holds up.

Played at Leven Links yesterday with a few members from the HDID forum, blowing a fecking gale it was I smoked driver 3 iron 3 wood & wedge to the par 5 6th hole and was still short. Never played in wind like it the hole is normally a driver 3 iron & 8 iron into the wind
