Went to play a local track this afternoon as they had a cheap deal on for tee off times after 2pm. Got there 20 minutes early and the course seemed quiet with only one 2 ball teeing off in front of me. By the time I reached the 3rd the 2 ball were being held up by a three ball of ladies.
The 2 ball were let through on the 5th while I was on that tee. The 2 ball cleared the green but a buggy then drove up to the ladies on the fairway and play stopped for another 5 minutes before they continued to play which seemed a bit strange.
As I approached the green one of the ladies shouted over to me that as there was a 3 ball a hole and a half behind me and they had a tea appointment they didn't have time to let me through. I said no problem as it was a nice day and finished the hole.
After waiting 25 minutes for them to finish the 6th I decided to jump to the 10th and come back and do the 3 holes I had missed out later.
2 things puzzled me about what that lady had said, what relevance did the 3 ball behind me have, (was I supposed to wait for them and ask to join them?) and what day was their tea appointment?
