Toying with the idea of building a PC and I am looking for recommendations on where to buy the bits.

Anybody got any recommendations?

Another vote for Aria, do your homework, things that catch you out include buying an AMD motherboard and an intel CPU, also getting a dedicated graphics card and not having the right power connection on the power supply unit.

As an ex PC builder, don't build your own on grounds of cost, trust me dell or others will do it cheaper especially after you factor in windows costs, do it because you want to find out what it's like to press the on button and feel your creation come alive :)

Unless you are doing it to learn/reinforce sknowledge, its not worth it any more. As Phil said, companies like Dell and more recently Zoostorm, make prebuilt PCs so hard to ignore based on quality and price.

I don't have to worry about an OS as I can get any one I want :mmm: ;)

Really doing it just for the knowledge and experience and kinda tied in with it is I will need a fair bit of memory with some of the stuff I will be doing in the not too distant future with college.

Cheers for the advice though.
