PB bounce did not last.. tail between legs (need a bounce)

The PB bounce from the weekend did not last. Played my Nike Matchplay today against a 14 HC. Started well with a win and a half. Then it went pear shaped. Sliced the driver & then pulled the provisional with a 3W. Had a few unlucky bounces etc, but kept my chin up.

Then my FC hit a hot streak. Chipped in twice to save hole or win. Started holing from nowhere and then shot a 109y eagle!!! Except for a couple of holes, did not play badly. But he just raised his game and had an answer. The only thing he did not do was score an ace on the day. It was a good day and enjoyed the company of a random stranger. But just cannot see what I need to do to win even when shooting close to handicap. The better player on the day won but was it just a case of the luck of the draw??? How do you recover?

Sounds like you are still playing consistent golf so be content with your own performance. You can't help what the other guy does and if he goes on a mad run like this guy did then put it down to one of those things and the better man won. I don't think there's anything to recover from
