i started following a company on twitter that give betting times on football, after clicking through old posts i see they charge you for this service on their site (4.99 p/m). after each game or weekend they tell you the tips they put out and accumulators they had on. they generally are very close if they haven't won. they RT a lot of winning pics but as all betting i'm sure plenty losers.

i'm never close with my bets and was wondering if its worth a try for 2 months? anyone else do similar?

Be very careful, the majority of these tipsters are long term losers and there are a variety of scams that make these companys seem to be better than they are, however it can take a little while (and a fair bit of money) before you fully realise.

There are plenty of good tipsters out there that give their tips for free (moreso now that modern techonology has dvanced), just a case of knowing where to find them (and I dont think this is the right forum to be discussing/sharing them either). If you decide you do want to pay for one then ideally look for one whose results are proofed (usually by the racing post or sporting life)

good advice, not really a gambler but when i seen the pics of the weekends game i was wondering if it was common practice to join these things.

If youre not really a gambler then I would advise to stay that way! By all means have a few fun bets, but its far more fun winning if you pick them yourselves! Only bet what you can afford to lose etc etc and dont have an expectation of winning, its a much harder game to beat than people think, especially betting on football.

The people who tend to join these (and often get scammed) are those who think there is an easy way or a magic secret to winning money betting, there isn't, and the majority of these services will charge you so that you can bet on their guesses rather than your own guesses. If you're only betting to win money then you either need to be very good (or start off very rich). There are people who win long term, but they invariably work very hard to beat the prices on offer, and have developed an edge over time

As the saying goes "Whats the easiest way to get £1 million from betting? Start with £2 million !"

To quote Jackson Browne.....

'You forget about the losses, you exaggerate the wins'

Seems to be the gamblers and tipsters philosophy.

My view is that:

if you are an occasional better, then paying for tips is a needless waste of money.
if you are a serious better, then paying for tips is an extra waste of money.
