Following the Gary Lineker thread, now this bloke IS a total tool.
He's an utter embarrassment on Soccer Saturday. On games he watching he gets the players names wrong and if he gets it right he can't pronounce it, even though it's blazzened right across their backs.
His vocabulary is extremely limited and even Jeff Stelling and his colleagues either laugh at him or cringe.
Oh and by the ways it's got nowt to do with him being an ex gooner.

I agree he isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer but is he really that useless? He entertains, he doesn't do brain surgery. Personally, I don't feel the need to take entertainment that seriously. If he was a leading politician, senior business leader or head of surgery at the local hospital I'd be worried.

Nah, disagree. Being unable to pronounce brings some warranted humour to the show. Its part of the program's appeal for me. If you want nicely nicey then watch Final Score.

I think he's brilliant.
I went to see him as a after dinner speaker a few years back,he was hilarious.
Had a chat with him after & he was spot on.

I think he brings something to the programme. Yes he's not the sharpest tool and he can't pronounce names but he tells it how it is and isn't afraid to give an opinion, even on Arsenal, that's damming if he thinks it's deserved.

As an ex Pompey player I try to dislike him.

But he's game for a laugh, doesn't take it too seriously and is probably the most impartial of them all.

That may may be down to the fact that he swapped clubs a little more than others.

id take him over the BBC or Bt sport lot anyday. .

That was 5 years a go, he was rightly punished and my comments were about his ability as a TV pundit.

There are loads of people on TV and in life who have convictions and are allowed to carry on working, plenty of people supported Merson and you pick up on my comment, whose trying to insult whose intelligence here?
