Did anyone notice the distinct difference in music styles between Paul McCartney at the BBC and Paul McCartney at the Cavern?

Didn’t watch it long enough. I thought his voice is shot to bits, and cringeworthy. Was really looking forward to the programme but quite disappointed.

Unfortunately it was shot ages ago for me Brian; think it was the Queen's diamond jubilee or possibly one of the Olympic events but it wasn't good then. It's a shame to see when older artists don't, or won't recognise their limitations. Cliff Richard is another.

Incredible body of work and still putting on a decent show in his 70s. I really enjoyed the Cavern gig.

Laughable that people are slating him while bumming up Adele!

One can hit the notes they are supposed to, the other can't; the only thing laughable is your defence of someone who doesn't know when to pack in live performances.

No one has denied his body of work.

To be fair I was very much a Beatles fan and recognize their contribution to music, having seen them from the 1960's. I really do think Paul should have called it a day a fair few years back

I'm not a great Beatles fan Chris, but that doesn't stop me recognising their contribution to music, and McCartney's contribution as a songwriter. However that doesn't mean he gets a pass because of past glories.
