living in West Sussex I often use the Rustington Golf Centre range. Having hit a bucket of balls today i was looking around the shop and thought I would treat myself to a box of Titelist V1x. Pentas were £40 so armed with a box I offered my £40 as although no price ticket they are aprox the same. I was then told that the V1x are 2 boxes for £70 and they dont sell individual boxes of a doz. Then another member of staff appeared and said I could have a single box for £46. This is the 1st time I have tried to be taxed for buying a doz ball box. Needless to say I told them to return back to their shelves and I would find an alternative practice facilicities.

Seems a very strange way of doing business. Surely a lot of people only want a dozen at a time. What about those buying presents at this time of year. They aren't going to want to get two dozen. I'd have asked why they felt the need to sell like this.

It seemed to me Homer that it was just the Titelist that these stipulations applied to. I have found them for £35 online but I do try and use pro shops. However this was plain ridiculous

I went into AG the other day, they wanted £40 for a dozen Pro V1, I said I wanted some but I've seen them for £35 - so they let me have them for £35.

Customer is King.

does seem like a very strange way of doing it especially when the price of 2 dozen balls is so expensive.not many people buy 2 dozen at a time.......

Doesn't matter what you pay here I can't believe how much we are being ripped off for balls. I was out in LA last week on business and happened to call into one of their golf shops on the way back to the hotel. 3 dozen Penta TP balls for $79.99. Approx £52.50 - £17.50 a Dozen - needless to say the case was a bit heavier coming home.

You going back soon per chance? lol

I wish - couldn't believe it - Pro V's were $35 a dozen but surprisingly the Z stars and Bridgestone B330 range were more expensive at $45 - about £30. Some clubs were a little bit cheaper e.g. JPX800 3 - SW $699 but it was dependant on which model you were after but it was the price of the balls that struck home most.

I have travelled to the USA many times, I have a son in Chicago and when we are there we always visit the local 'Golf Galaxy' store. It does highlight how we are ripped off here in Britain.

Everything is around a $ for our £. It was also the same when the $ was two to the £.

Srixon AD333 $16. I purchased a Ping G5i B60 Putter for $110 when they were £110 in my club Pro Shop and the $ was two to the £.

Last time I was in Florida it was more expensive. Unusual, but the exchange rate was terrible.

I'm in Florida at east once a year and it does depend on what you buy, current club models are as cheap here.

Best price ive seen pro v's is in the sports shop Decathlon where 3 months ago they were £30, ain't been in for a while right enough but I'm certain they'll be sub £40
