Hi all,

Tomorrow, we're interviewing the new Golf Foundation CEO, Brendon Pyle, about growing golf and getting more children into the game. Have something you'd like to ask him on this hot topic? Any ideas? Anything you'd like to see the Golf Foundation doing going forward? If so, leave your question in the comments below. It promises to be an interesting discussion.

Many thanks,

Nick

Brendon, why do you think UK Golf participation is in such decline?

Does golf need to appeal to a wide range of society? Or is it inevitable in the world today that it will revert to being more of a niche sport that draws most of it's participant from a relatively small section of society? And that is where most efforts to grow the game should be target at

How do you go around changing the perception of the game so it appears more attractive to a wide range of people?

Whilst the top level pro game seems to be in rude health, do you think the game at the grass roots/amateur club level could market itself better? Has there been too bigger an assumption of trickle down, where the good health of one will follow the other, which in reality has not occurred? And what can be done to change this situation?

Do you feel there are too many bodies in the game of golf, all doing much the same thing with relatively similar remits? And is this causing a lot of very good, but ultimately not very coordinated initiatives throughout the game leading to ultimately not much changing? And if so what can be done to remedy this situation?

Dress codes, a great way of maintaining the 'standards' of the game we all love and ensuring people who play it are dressed appropriately. Or an antiquated 'way past their sell by date' dull and unimaginative uniform loved by the old and jobsworths, that sends out all the wrong signals about the game to youngsters.

Favourite cheese?

Any ideas on a form of quick golf, similar to quick cricket. Golf takes a long time, and kids have relatively short attention spans.

Why is it still hard to get youngsters involved in golf even with a great British role model (well his golf) in Rory and is the Foundation doing enough with the top level players to market the game to the next generation

What is being done to encourage schools to recognise and encourage golf as a viable school sport from primary age?

Is a widely recognised accreditation scheme for kids coaches and/or an achievement scheme for kids worth investigating/investing in?

how can busy, full size courses be augmented to accommodate younger golfers?
