Spending 1/2 term near Portsmouth and looking to play somewhere, have played several courses near there, Rowlands Castle, Hayling, Chichester anyone any views on Parks Course at Goodwood, thought Downs looked nicer but members only or £100 for day membership which is a bit steep for me. or where else could anyone recommend.. Max 40-50 quid a round

Played both last year on a golf trip. Downs course was excellent. The Parks course was reasonable and pleasant enough but nothing special.
I wouldn't avoid it but equally if you get a good recommendation in the area I would go for that.

My dads a member and the park course is always on great condition considering it's the 2nd course. You can get on there really cheap, so I would recommend it.

Old Thorns, Petersfield, Waterlooville they'll all offer good value deals too!

Alresford might be worth considering for you budget.

If you were prepared to pay a bit more you could try Liphook. Just up the A3, so not far, and the best course in Hampshire.

Well worth a visit - park land course not that easy although it looks it + in very good condition at the moment

If you can get in try the Downs far more interesting
