Hi guys bit of advice needed please for a couple of northerners comin down to Cornwall for a week with the families..... But allowed to bring our clubs for a couple of early mornin rounds!!

Can you give us some pointers on decent tracks to try and best place to book / get any offers !!

I have looked at trevose gc..... Appears to be quite close and looks nice..... Is it worth the £70 green fee??

Thanks in advance for any suggestions, much appreciated!!!

I've heard mixed reports about Trevose, so it might be a risk.

Can certainly recommend St Enedoc Church course. Expensive at £75, but if you can negotiate so round is after 4pm, then 'only' £45 (not Wednesday). Take the ferry from Padstow to Rock. It's a long way round by road!

Trevose did a twilight deal last summer, I think it was £30 after 4:00 PM. I'd imagine they'll be doing something similar this year.
some say its overrated and it probably is tbh, but its still a good enjoyable course, theres just 3 poor holes 12,13 and 14 I think, there's not many better places to be playing golf on a warm summers evening though. I certainly don't think you'd be dissapointed.

I didn't play St Enodoc but I Believe its a pretty stern test, very tight and demanding apparently.

Trevose is a great track and well worth the £70 green fees. Have a look along the beach house near the 4th green, the one which looks pretty new is Ross Brawn's weekend get away.
St Enodoc is a cracking course too with green fees of £80 not too expensive either.
If you want to play a parkland course then Lanhydrock is a good course or Bowood park near Camelford. The point near Polzeath has had a lot of work done but is still a little disappointing.
Shame your only able to play early morning or I could have organised a game at our place. It's not long but it's not easy either.
PM me if you need any other info.

They have done a lot of work on 13 and 14 over the last year with 13 having the fairway remodeled and the 14 having a new tee built.

It's worth making the trip to St Mellion - 2 excellent courses, a spa and resort - so the rest of the family have stuff to do whilst you are out on the course. It's not cheap but worth it (I have a timeshare there so golf is free for me - and the timeshares are worth looking at - cheaper than the hotel and real luxury).

Thanks again for the replies guys...

I am booked on st mellion Nicklaus course in the mornin....

Any pointers greatly accepted !!!

St Mellion Championship course is a very nice course, tight and interesting. Dont overdo it with the driver off the tee. The Kernow course is OK but not as nice.

They have had a grass exchange program ongoing for last 3 yrs at Trevose after losing the greens one summer. Personally, I think the greens are awful and spoil any round there. I used to be a member there and it is a beautiful place for a course, but fast bobbly greens do nobody any favours!!
