Padraig

Totally agree, but it must be like winning a major for Heath Slocum to win by a shot from Padraig, Tiger, Els and Stricker.
We'll all be in speedo-wear if this rain doesn't let up.

Harrington in a recent interview over here and taking the mickey out of himself stated that on his return from the Bridgestone and USPGA he found a ball retriever in his bag put there by one of his family members.

Great to see him playing well again--2 second places and a top 20 in the USPGA a big turnaround in his fortunes. Hes now up to 14 in the Fed Ex having been outside the top 150 before the Bridgestone.

It was only a matter of time for him to put the new swing changes into place and get competitive again. Sadly it wasn't in time to truely compete for most of this season but I reckon he'll have a great 2010

Well done Padraig, he really seems to be a nice guy. I met him years ago at the North of Ireland before he turned pro. Never did I think at the time I was talking to a future major winner.
Hopefully he can keep going from now on.

I'd love to see McGinley getting back on form I like him aswell.

Hes had his time, Paddy wont win another major.

I can't see what you can base that on.

To win one is impressive. Two is mighty difficult and three a rarity. To then go away and make wholesale changes and have a bad season is not unheard of. I seem to remember a guy called Faldo at the height of his career doing the same thing and coming back to win more majors.

Like Faldo, Paddy has the same determination, beligerance, single-mindedness, blinkered self-belief and desire to go away, consolidate over the winter and be back at the top of the tree next year.

Never a truer word said homer......Ill second everything you've said. He'll be back stronger for next year... A recent interview with the one and only MR.Woods had him saying that Paddy was a 100% right in what he has done with his swing change and if anyone remembers i have done the same with mine...We all strive for perfection whether it be the weekend hacker young or old amateur senior or seasoned pro....everyone strives to be the best at what they do......

I think the Craw sounds slightly bitter....

And let's not forget that Padraig is an all round nice guy - I thought I'd add that in since you couldn't say the same about Faldo.

Harrington has more majors in him - no doubt - but he could do with learning some patience (like Faldo). He seems to reach a point in a competition where he feels he has to do something big to win it. At the recent USPGA, for example, but also a US Open (when Ogilvy won) and a British Open (before he won his first major). He decided he had to win it (and there's nothing wrong with that), rather than waiting.

The US Open is a classic example where, after 16 pars (I think) on the last day he decided he had to make birdies on an extremely tough course. He blew it and blew a chance to win his first major.

With a little patience I can see another couple of majors at least.
