So what, for you, are the most over-rated and under-rated brands/clubs/kit...? And why...
Please, if someone over-rates your favourite, take it in the chin.

Under-rated.
Cleveland woods - Drivers are superb as are the fairways. Good looking clubs that don't break the bank but use quality shafts.

Over-rated.
Nike - sorry, Nike just doesn't do anything for me. The woods are garish, I don't like their balls, the image sucks and nobody knows if it's Nike (as in Mike) or Nikee or both..

Over to you and keep it cheerful!

Ooooh, beg to differ on the Nike stuff, having used their irons in the past, believe they're very under rated. Same goes for their Method putters. Fantastic sticks. They just don't have the pedigree of other brands but definitely match them in quality in my opinion.

Over rated - Mizuno irons for me. Hit them in the past, specifically JPX ranges and wasn't a fan at all.

Under rated has to be Wilson Staff. The FG Tour irons are superb and great value and all of their balls can compete with similar Titleist offerings at far lower prices

Nike are underrated because of blinkered old farts dismissing it as over marketed spandex!! ;) Great performing woods, beautifully crafted irons and copycat putters.

Ping is overrated - ugly granite. :)

Orka irons are vastly underrated IMHO. I've had my PS9's in the bag for 2 years now and my eye hasn't wandered once in that time. Great price as well!! Can't comment on the rest of the Orka range as not tried any other products.

Taylormade have a bad image for me. Too many product releases, nothing that I would consider a 'players' club in the range and everything looks to me to be aimed at the GI sector. Snog/marry/avoid? Avoid!!

Agreed about the Cleveland woods! but they dont help themselves, I tried unsuccessfully for 2 days to find a place to test them and no-one, no-one has them....."we can order it in for you sir" is the best I got but their drivers are top in some polls.

Overrated I have to say Orka irons, their price is too high and (the ones I have tried) felt like lumps of metal, literally!

Depends where you go, mine cost me £490 for 3-PW forged blades. Which ones have you tried as a matter of interest?

Agree with cleveland being under rated, they make some smashing clubs (other than wedges) that are just great

Adams seems to fly under the radar too and they make good stuff too

Over rated, I'm not sure if this counts as over rated but I find some of the more GI Ping stuff to be a bit ugly massive thick soles and huge looking offsets

It definitely performs well enough just a bit odd looking

Under = Adams. All their kit is very good IMO
Over = Vokey wedges. No better than any of the others on the market

Agree totally..
Would add Cleveland wedges to the underrated category. My PP has 2 and they are much better than the Vokeys I've used in the past.
Oh, and would add Scotty Cameron putters to the overrated category. Vastly vastly over-hyped..

Yeh +1 on that. every one i have tried has felt no better than an other similar "premium" putter of the same style, couldnt work out why it was £100+ more than them!

Cleveland wedges are great no doubt about that. I love Titleist kit really as well but the Vokey did not give me anything better than loads of others I tried. Never tried Scotty putters so do not know about those.

Have to agree with Cleveland woods. I bought one off my mate for £20 great club at a great price. Really considering going back to it but need to regrip it and see if its still as good. I really liked the weight of it and overall looks.
