Considering buying a Ping G20 as they are cheap(ish) at the moment but is it worth changing to this from a G10 in terms of performance or should I just go straight to the G25?

To be honest I don't need a new driver at all but when you a have itch to buy new stuff the urge is just too great - or is it just me?

Can't comment on the G25 as I haven't hit one,looks really good tho. I tried a G20 at the range & tbh I preferred my G10.

I am a ping man (yes old) I have tried the G20, owned the G15 and have a rapture. But without a shadow of doubt the G25 is the best of the bunch out of all the drivers I have used/owned. Please try before you buy as it can be an expensive mistake.

Oh and welcome to the forum :) how about a little info about yourself.

Thanks for the welcome Doh.

Married with 1 boy and twin girls on the way so I need to get my golf and 'essential' purchases in now before it's too late.

Cheers HomerJSimpson for recommendation but do you find it a pain to adjust loft etc. on this club and do you bother with this from round to round?

Once you find the setting that suits you shouldn't really need to alter it. If your going to be constantly altering it then your probably better with a fixed driver.

Bobby, is it a case of something shiny or do you feel the g10 is lacking somewhere costing you scores. Personally I'd get a rack man fit for a back to back comparison , if it isn't noticeably longer, straighter, tighter dispersion.... Is it worth it.

I changed driver not because it was longer, (it was by very little) but it flew lower and was tighter grouping,

I must admit the large part of this is down to something new and shiny :)

The other reason though is that the loft on my G10 is only 9.5; I can hit a long ball but I feel i'm losing yards due to the current ball flight. Thinking of moving to 10.5/11 loft?

I used to use a G5, then bought a G15 to replace it. Guess what.....G5 now back in bag and G15 in the naughty cupboard. I agree with the 'try before you buy' posters.

Wow a G5, that's a golf club from the past but if it still works for you then great stuff.

speaking of old clubs I would love to have a dig with a wooden headed driver for old times sake - with the size of the head I suspect I'd do an air shot straight under the ball and just move the tee!

This was me at Xmas, the R1 I bought was no better than my old driver. Sold it after barely a month.

To be fair to the R1 its not the club but rather I am not suited to it with the standard shaft.
