A couple of us are out after work to practice this evening but isn't it sad, after a wonderful summer, to contemplate the return to the golf range to practice now that the light evenings are going?

I have also dropped from 12 to 10 in the last few weeks and put this down to real practice on the course. Also, I have saved quite a lot of dosh, as well as utilising my annual sub much more.

Anyone else agree/disagree?

Always depends on how many balls you lose or what balls you play with.

For some it would do more harm than good.

Personally I love evening rounds, off to squeeze in 9 tonight!

Evening golf never an option here, latest good golfing light about 6'ish and I do miss stopping off for 9/18 on the way home, so just have to make do with range year round in the evenings but at least its floodlit (and as a fun side-game you can try nailing a bat in flight ;) )

Yep, agreed, I have been going out 2-3 evenings a week and it's paying off with 4.4 drop this season.
I pay a grand for the privilege of being allowed on the course so I'm making as much use of it as I can.

100% agree with your thoughts. We play at least one evening a week and if the opportunity presents itself more ofetn we take it.

I love trying different shots , using different clubs etc and the relaxed atmosphere of an evening round.

Getting a bit tight for a full 18 right now but we will be looking at playing 12 then 9 holes before the summer is gone to keep this going as long as possible.

Got there at 6.15 this evening, played about 12 or 13 holes jumping around to miss playing groups but I was rushing it a bit so not the best scoring, still good to be out there though!

Played 9 tonight, not a bit of wind and it was nice and warm to, shame it got dark by 8! Gutted

Played last night as well, teed off around 6.30, just joined up with another member who was heading for the first tee, and another joined us at no. 8. Very pleasant evening and managed 13holes before coming off around 8.30, still able to see - just.

It's amazing the difference when just playing a bounce game like that, you hit the ball go find it and hit it again. None of this deep thought about it being a competition and I must do well.

We teed off at 5.30 on did 9 holes, it was a beautiful evening and a glorious sunset - what more coud you want ?

I went par, par, bogie, par, par, bogie, par, bogie and par to finish so all in all a great practice with a good mate.

Sprinted round 8 holes last night on a perfect warm evening. A mixture of sublime and ridiculous shotmaking, but delightful none the less.

It always takes me at least 1 hole to calm down from the rush to get there and out onto the course. Birdie on 18 after driving the green always send one home content.

Not long now before golf once again becomes a weekend-only pursuit
