So, for those of that have read my previous posts, my big focus this year has been on breaking 100 consistently, and last week, I shot a 97 and a 98, and I was absolutely over the moon. I have broke a 100 a couple of times before that as well, so I have been really pleased with my progress this year.

Went out this morning, and shot 86!!!!! A good friend of mine made a comment on my posture, tried it out, and with a 7i and above I just had so much control. Absolutely over the moon! Putted really well too.

Still inconsistent off the tee, but I was able to recover really well today.

Was not expecting that today..... couldn't be happier!!!!

Nice shooting sir.
Don't be disappointed if your next round is high 90's.
Nice to know that you can do it & heading in the right direction.

It shows that you can do it, which is the main thing. If you ever have any bad rounds, you can always think of this round, and you have something to fall back on, so you can acknowledge that it was just a bad round.

The last few rounds I've been teetering around 100 (although had an 84 last year), and in an informal round yesterday, my nine holes went: bogey, birdie, birdie, par, bogey, par, bogey, par, par. You know you have the cobbles to do it, it's just doing it when it matters :D

Thanks all. Currently a not a member anywhere, but have been playing off about 25. Shame I am not a member somewhere as this would be a nice cut! :)

I am not as naive to think this is the new norm, but it certainly did feel good coming off that 18th today!!

I'm getting close to the magical 90 barrier again, played last night ad bar a few dodgy holes I struck the ball well, had a few pars and a birdie, still netted a 96, but there were a lot of positives in the round.

Got a few rounds lined up through September so hopefully I'll be joining you in breaking 90, in what will be the first time in 2years, fingers crossed.

Good luck!!! I've read so many stories on here that I just didn't think it would happen to me, or that it was possible for it to just 'click' even if it is just for one round. But today was that day for me!

Pleased for you. It's a nice feeling when it comes together like that.

First time where I genuinely came off feeling.... yeh I did pretty good there!!! I have been really pleased with my 96s and 97s, but I have still finished the round thinking about 5-10 shots I wasted.

Today I wasted maybe two or three... max. Came off just really pleased with how I played... and has spurred me on to continue working hard, improving, and enjoying it!!

Well done matey, it's a great feeling!

Funny the way it can all come together at once. I did the same a month or so ago. It gives you so much confidence which in turn leads to playing better golf.

Thanks... I literally can not wait to get back out there and play again. I am realistic enough to think that I probably won't be breaking 90 again on Saturday, but I will definitely give it my best shot!!

There's the key.

The more I observe, the more I think that people who shoot high scores do so because of how many shots they waste, not because they can't hit good shots.

Hope that makes sense.

Plus they often have terrible short games due to lack of or zero practice.
