On tee shot out of bounds to right hand side(other fairway).ball goes out of bounds, do you reload or can you drop ball on point it went out of bounds?.two of my playing partners had an issue with it.

Just a thought prompted by these posts. Using the term "reload" is a habit worth breaking. If that term is used when declaring a provisional it will be invalid. See decision 27-2a/1.

(Implied meanings, and all that.)

Well worth pointing out.

Unless I am 100% sure that a ball is definitely OOB I'll declared my second as a provisional. This is after I had thought a ball had gone OOB so I simple reloaded. Went down and found the first ball had bounced back into play

Reload is a term that has meaning to Sarah Palin and her moose hunting colleagues. It has no place in the vocabulary of a golfer because it has no meaning. :sbox:

I have quite a lot of words in my golfing vocabulary which have no meaning ..... but they are very satisfying in moments of stress :)

I used to play society golf and this was a common problem. the society rule was if you went OOB or lost ball you could drop a ball near where you thought it was lost or OOB with 2 shot pen . This was done for speed of play as we played on Munis and courses were busy. Club golf is different and the rules MUST be obeyed so BACK to the tee or place of last shot.
