On an earlier thread I said that I would post some comments on these irons having been provided with a set to try for a couple of weeks. Bear in mind that I am a high handicapper looking for consistant and forgiving irons and am not yet looking to shape shots or anything as complicated as that.

First impressions were good. The clubs certainly looked the part and the lighter Nippon 950 pro shafts that had been fitted seemed to suit my swing on the first outing on the range. I have had a tendancy to spray my irons all over the shop with my Di7s but these seemed to fly straight more often than not. They have been out on the course for 3 rounds so far and preformance seems to be pretty good. There has been no problem getting the ball up in the air, they seem to be flying straighter and I am even getting a bit of stop on the greens (though this could be due to the damp conditions). From what a recall, they are not as aggressively lofted as the Di7s but I have not seen any loss in distance. Strangely the heads are smaller and the soles narrower than on my current irons but I have found them equally, if not more, forgiving. Have also found a bit of form with the wedges.

Whilst they still have a couple more rounds to go through at the weekend before I make my final decision, I strongly suspect that they will remain in my bag and I would recommend anyone to give them a go.

Hope this helps.

Depends where you get them from. Whilst the shaft options on the basic online service are more limited, the club fitters are able to advise on shafts that may suit and have a very wide selection. The shafts fitted to mine are not a standard option on the web site but it was felt that they would suit me better than the standard shafts or the Dynamic Gold options. Certainly the fitter I saw was of the opinion that ladies and seniors should not be seen as separate categories, they just need to be fitted with the right shaft same as eveyone else.
