With reference to the above irons has anyone had any experience of using them? Not a company I know much about but their kit gets very good write ups in various golf mags.

These irons in particular look very good.

Any views/opinions would be welcome.

Welcome on board. Hope you stick around. Very good opening question. I'd not heard much about them until this year but they seem to be focussed on bladed clubs. I think there are a number of forum members on here who have got or had them so I'm sure your get all the info you need.

Look forward to seeing you on here regularly. Now you've started you'll find it hard to stop!

HenryS...It's only this year that this make has really flagged up!
Always seem to get good write -ups(although as you say they only seem to appear as blades??)
Anyone got any info as they do look nice!!""!
Can they be colour co-ordinated to match shoes???? :p

They do make cavity backs as well. I'm sure someone on here sol some to another forum member so there should be two people who can tell you about the company if not the exact product you are thinking about.

Anyway welcome to the forum.

The pro at my club sells Orka. They look OK - he's got the full range in. Its just the colour schemes that get me - why do they think Lime Green on a club is good? Same with the Benross Trimass and Ping Rapture V2's - makes my eyes burn just thinking about them.

Decent clubs though!

Henry,
I had Orka heads put on my irons by a local club builder. They have cavity backs and work well for me when I am not afflicted by my current mental block.
They are usually supplied by a custom fit expert so you should expect good results.

Henry welcome to the forum.

I bought these Orka irons off GB72 for my dads birthday.

The head was almost identicle to my Callaway X20's although the cavity at the back differed.

Not bad irons to be honest, Played a little like my X20's but it was the shaft in them that made them. I wouldn't rave about them but wouldn't dismiss them if you can pick them up cheaply.

Welcome to the forum.

Cheers for the replies, interesting to see a fairly positive view of a company that don't really spend alot of money on advertising.

Re: Orka Irons - PS9 CB & MB

I can add to the positive views as I used to own a set of Kii irons, a Kii driver and hybrid and still have an FK2 wedge.

First up, the custom fitter I used was superb. No pressure to buy and spent over 2 hours fitting and then another hour checking his work when I collected the clubs.

As for the clubs, the driver was great but I bought it when I first started out and it had 12 degrees of loft. I only changed it when that become too much.

The irons were also superb and, as Tony said, had great shafts. Again, only changed because GM sent me a set of Burner irons and they were that bit more forgiving.

The hybrid was also top notch (not sure if you have tried that Tony but it is still one of the best hybrids I have hit and is scarily long).

The forged wedge remains in my bag and is my go to club for chipping. Not found anything that I prefer to it.

Also had great communication with the MD (Stuart Johnson) who also popped up on this forum for a bit last year. He is very friendly and helpful.

I can see Orks gaining a good reputation in the coming years to compete with the likes of MD who are in a similar price bracket.

Re: Orka Irons - PS9 CB & MB

yes greg, the hybrid was great, especialy off the tee.just under 200 yards with a 4 iron hybrid was impressive. I wanted to keep it myself!

Re: Orka Irons - PS9 CB & MB

Henry welcome.

I was looking into Orkas last year as one of their fitters was reasonably local to me; actually had one or two problems with his set up but the MD contacted me very quickly to understand and sort the problem.

The Prices seemed pretty good right across the range.

(the only reason I didn't go Orka in the end was that I got such a good deal on my MacGregors I would have to have been victor220 not to have taken it)

Re: Orka Irons - PS9 CB & MB

I am looking for a set of these now and i noticed a post by Stuart the owner on this forum earlier is he still active on this forum?

I tried a number of 6 irons with 50 balls is that the way you should get fitted for golf clubs or has my pro just taken an easy option as it did not appear any better than going to JJB and trying them off the shelf.

Thoughts on how an Orkas fitter should measure would be appreciated.

Thanks
