I listened to quite an interesting discussion on the radio this morning about organ donation and the effect it has had on peoples lives.

So....simple question......would you donate an organ(s) when you die? If not, are you prepared to tell us why?

Yes I would donate my organs when I pass away

Would also possibly donate half my liver is it helped a loved one

Changing doctor surgeries now we've moved and been asked the question as part of the registration as to whether I want to go on the donor list. Not considered it for many years having not always been in top shape medically. Need to do some reading me thinks.

They can have what they like once I'm gone except my eyes. I have no idea why but want to keep them.
I would love to give blood but having had a blood transfusion when there wasn't any screening for mad cow disease I'm not eligible which is a great shame as the (several) pints I received certainly saved my life.

I'm on the donor list through my driving licence. Take whatever you want, although my liver may not be much use to anyone!
I tried to give blood a while back but they wouldn't accept me as I'd had a tattoo less than a year ago. Seems a bit odd to me if they're that desperate for it but there you go...

I'm going to buck the trend and say no, no particular reason not to, but I'm hedging my bets and if there is an after life I want all my bits just incase.

I don't know why, but I've never carried a donor card and don't think I will.

I think the question should be turned around

If you needed a transplant would you be willing to accept an organ ?
If so then you should be willing to donate yours

I'm on the list

See that's where I'm covered, I'm not sure I'd accept an organ, I probably wouldn't but you can't actually say until faced with the decision I suppose.

They can have what they like from me although I suspect that not much is of any use to anyone these days.

I have a signed donor card that i carry with me , sadly most of my bits are passed their sell by date .Except one part, which in my opinion has been underused.

All you potential donors might consider giving a sample to go on Antony Nolan bone marrow register.
There is an upper age limit sorry can't recall what it is.

Yes. Would be a bit hypocritical of me to say no when I'm sat here with a kidney donated by some incredibly generous soul
They're no good to us when we're gone!
