Hi all

The poll to decide whether or you wanted us to continue with the order of merit/post of the month idea has closed

As the majority of users didn't want it to happen the idea is henceforth binned and the competition is null and void.

As I have said in previous posts the idea was to acknowledge the high quality of posts on the message board but with hindsight I can see the 'most posts in month' was open to abuse and altered the dynamic of the board

From your comments I can see that a small prize for those posters who's posts we feature in the "what you're talking about piece" in the magazine would be appreciated. We'll get that sorted

cheers

Excellent, Mike. Good sense prevails once again. In any event I think the forum seems to have come down from a bit of a bad trip over the last few days.

Offering prizes seemed like a harmless idea to promote the forum but once you offer incentives for the volume of posts, all hell was always likely to break loose. Now it seems to have got back pretty much to normal, thankfully.

I'm sure most of the regular posters here appreciated the thought, at least.

how's the blog coming along - we'll definitely be able to sort you out with something for that

Hi all,
Wait till I just climb down off my high horse here.
That's better,
Anyway glad we are all no longer in competition with eachother, it's hard enough on the course. Thanks to MikeH. Really don't think it was good for spontaneity trying to force people to be witty, these things are better unforced. Anyway the forum seems pretty healthy regardless.
I think my 2.5 days away frm the forum was good for me, played Sat but forgot to sign card. Getting the forum absence DT's quite bad now so here I am, back like a bad smell.
Cant think of much to say other than I concur fully with the face-painting nonsense in Sweden, learn to play golf better before you take up face painting.

Welcome back, birdieman. Normal service does seem to have been resumed.

As regards the face painting, I don't think there's any harm in it. They're women after all and obviously don't have anything better to do on a dreich day in Sweden. Hmmm. Practice more?

The blog is progressing well although I must admit I am finding it hard to stick to the word count and adquately describe the tribulations of what can only be described as an "interesting" month.

The last of the competitions I am including, the Club Masters (for competition winners from the past 12 months) is on the 30th so have you any idea of a submission date? (mmmm 36 holes of medal and playing soooooooo badly - can't wait!)
