I'm supprised anyone who hold an open this time of year!!

This week I have entered Beau Desert, Sherwood forest, Lindrick and The Oxfordshire added top the others at St Annes old links, Market Rasen, Holme Hall, Moortown. My missus is very impressed!

Not entered any yet but have played a few open weeks in the past.

Saunton GC
Cruden Bay GC
Tenby GC
Nairn GC

All very good weeks
Saunton looks a great open. Shame it's a 6 hr drive but its on my watch list for next year

Team events at Fulford and Lindrick, pairs at Moor Allerton, Coxmoor, Nottinghamshire, Sherwood Forest, Mid Am at Ganton, hopefully at Sunningdale, a few Yorkshire Order of Merit events, Sherwood Forester, Lincs Amateur at Elsham, Lincs Open at Torksey and a few others.

Have you entered the trilby tour this year?

Got enough on my plate thanks. Curious why you'd think I'm entering TT?
Genuine question that's all, I knew you was a supporter off it so I guess you played in it. Not going to get into a slagging debate about the TT, Along with the comps you said you was entering I did wonder if that was on your list as it would be an expensive season.

I played in one down there the other August which was 36 holes over both courses, I've still got the bruises. Worth it though.
sounds great, love a course thats beats you up, the Hotchkin does it to me weekly. Worth organising a trip next year with rnd then? Best get our travel agent Birchy on the case.

Noooo don't wake the sleeping beast!

Inverness 5 days, Goswick 2 days, Beau desert/Kenilworth 2 days, Silloth/Southerness 2 days already lined up.

If down there go to St. Mellion also.

Dont know where you got your info from or you are going on a hunch!

As far as I'm concerned each to their own golfing aspirations, we can all have opinions on these amateur tours, from the TT, Single figure golfer, EAGT, Midland tours, NE Tours, if you play in them then good on you. Great way to make friends and play golf, just like your H4H day outings. Don't know why people critique amateur events, 15-20 yrs ago you NEVER had this amount of competitive golf available!

Yeah, it will be an expensive season, but if you enjoy competitive golf then whether it's scratch or general Open comps why not play them? Golf is my only vice in life! And my hc is from playing various courses and difficulty and not just at home course.

my question was genuine as I know your previous posts really had a lot off info on the trilby tour and you defended it a lot on a thread that got removed so that is where I got the info from. I presumed that you played in it. If I got it wrong then apologies if you took offence. It was a question from one golfer to another without looking for a argument or trilby tour bashing session.

Agree totally with your main statement and I think most of us who only have golf as a main sport play as much competitive golf as possible by way if county events, amateur tour events etc.
