Does anyone do this?
Iv been tinkering with this over the past few weeks at the range and also on the course.... Not with every shot just yet but a good portion..... Results have been very good....

I'm just wandering is there a downside to this.... I would think that its maybe very easy to start coming OTT if your not clued in to what your doing but my one thought when swinging like this is to hit the inside of the ball....

Does anyone use this method for all their clubs.....
I played tonight.... I had 141 mtrs to the pin... Flag was slightly left of centre... I took 7 iron an aimed about 6 mtrs left of the pin.... Opened stance.....I took a nice shallow divot after the ball and the ball finished 6ft left of the pin.... It probably move no more than a couple of mtrs left to right.

I started doing it about 4 months ago and it's given me much more consistency. My bad shot, especially with the driver, used to be a big block right but since I opened the stance a little I seem to have removed that shot from my game. I think having the stance open a little helps me clear my hips better which stops me from pushing the ball right. I would say give it a try, you might be pleasantly surprised

A session a month ago with my playing Scott and he opened my stance as I was trapping myself forcing me to cut badly across the ball trying to save the shot. Now, with an open stance, I'm swinging far easier and not slicing the ball anywhere near as much as I was. I've gained a lot of consistency with my longer clubs and my direction is far better with my short irons and wedges resulting in more GIR and more pars and birdies.
Loving playing more than ever!
