So there are a lot of open competitions coming up in my area, ive signed up for 2 on courses ive never played before. Can i realistically off my handicap expect to make my buffer having never seen the places?

As i only started playing 3 years ago i dont really have any golfing friends so i use opens as a chance to play courses i would never get to usually, so the handicap thing doesnt bother me too much but i dont want it going too far in the wrong direction.

Does anyone else play in comps at courses theyve never seen, how do you score?

Ive rocked up at courses ive never seen before in my life an ripped them apart. Sometimes it helps not worrying where all the crap is. Just pick your spot and hit the ball to it, seems easier with no bad memories :D

So in answer to your question, yes you definately not only could but you could get a cut too.

there will be an away players CSS calculated separately from home players it is expected to be 1.5/2 shots higher.

Just go out enjoy the day and new course and the h?cap will take care of its self.
