Complete waste of money I would say.

The coach needs to be standing there in front of you, seeing what you can and can't do, talking to you to find out how you think, watching the ball to see what your predominant ball flights are, finding out what shots you are comfortable with and which scare you.

Sending a video to a coach who knows your swing and your game is one thing, but lessons from the beginning via Internet would be pretty ineffective imo.

Crossfield has a couple of videos where he shows that 2D video is completely ineffectual for showing angles and so on. Ultimately you can show completely different things going on in a swing if you change the angle of view even slightly. So I'd say video only lessons are a waste.

At the same time he fixes or at least tries to fix peoples swings every week from a single swing usually taken at a funky angle.

To good pros most swing flaws are jumping out at them. For some problems they might want to be standing next to you. I'd imagine crossfield can spot flaws from a fairway away and can suggest fixes.

If it isn't clear he usually says if you are doing this then try X, if intact its the opposite try Y.

I wouldn't entertain online lessons. Where's the back and forth questions and answers? Where's the real time swing analysis? You could spend 1/2 hour grooving a swing fault only to be told when the feedback email comes back that you've misunderstood the initial instruction.

In the great scheme of costs to play golf, buying gear/memberships etc, surely £30 on a face-2-face lesson is a solid investment?
