I'm truly sorry if my use of the b word offended you. I hadn’t quite thought it was in the same league as what I would consider a genuine swear word but anyway I have deleted my own thread for fear of any further upset.

Regular viewers of the forum will realise that we actually leave a lot of posts with bad language (whether self censored with asterisks or not) and only really bin stuff if it's really offensive or gratuitous.

To be fair to Brendy he had already (quite correctly) moved the post to OOB but rest assured I think this post gives him the requisite public dressing down and perhaps I might even hand him down the ultimate punishment - having to play with me at Castle Stuart.

I think that we all know the swear words that are not permitted on the forum and I think you will find the B word is in the dictionary. I am disappointed that grown men feel the need to spit the dummy out once again.

Andy, did it offend you?

It was typed in a jovial manner and I would be staggered if anyone else thought to complain about its use because Neil Tappin is one lucky Barsteward

I'll draw the Jury's attention to this thread

And quote
Have to agree Dodger, he is a moany faced baldy prick.

another quote in the context of looking at a picture of a female in a saucy pose.
He just thinking if his tongue would reach that provocative pose lol

Your Avatar Biffa Bacon, hardly child friendly either.

Pot, kettle and black Andy. If you are going to bemoan the use of an editted and moved topic, watch what you type yourself, even in OOB.

Language as stated to Mike is a word typed. I couldn't give two monkeys what somebody says on here, its words. Say what you like it matters not a jot.

My argument is there is no consitency in the Mods on here. You blatantly left a thread with the word bastard in it. End of.

Why bring my avatar into? The Viz comic was sold as an adult comic. Where was it advertised my avatar had to be child friendly?

So if you wanna loosen your tie and let the blood flow to ur head.

Nothing wrong with my head Andy, I moved the thread to OOB straight away, as I did with a few other threads in the past (where certain folks took great offense to, its a forum for gods sake). So consistency wise, its not far off. Threads generally get removed (this is the difference) from the forum totally when its personal insults, spam or where a thread has had to be managed, ie parts removed with the remainder left in its appropriate section.
To be honest I was expecting someone to complain, it was just a matter of who and not when.
Hope this helps clear things up.

I have to say I didn't think too much about it and though the piece summed up a collective jealousy for Tappers good fortune. It's always easy to have a pop at the mods on any forum and to be fair there have been times when I think a post has been pulled a little early and times (Homergate being the obvious one from personal experience) where action wasn't taken quick enough.

Its an unpaid job and not an easy one. If you don't like a thread you're not obliged to read it. If there is something in it that causes offence then why not mention it in a polite and approachful manner and not rant and kick off (a question applied to the forum in general and not the OP). With regards to avatar, what some people consider amusing may not appear so to others. I've had people approach me about mine and at the end of the day its a personal preference. Providing it is clearly not in poor taste then I think live and let live on that subject.
