One hit wonders.

This was almost 6 mins long so was never played to the end which was a shame.
And I guess the section in 7/4 was difficult to dance to.
43 years ago  when they knew how to write a tune

In terms of hits. yes, a one hit wonder. In terms of work, since 1987 he played guitar, keyboards, performed vocals and was also music director for Tina Turner's touring band and played on her studio albums. He was apparently also a guest vocalist with The Alan Parsons Project, appeared on Jimmy Page's album Outrider and played Hammond organ on the Joe Cocker album Night Calls. Maybe not successful in the hit parade, but obviously a damn fine and much appreciated musician.

M|A|R|R|S - Pump Up The Volume

Real classic from 1987 this one and quite innovative for its time with the many samples used. No subsequent singles or albums were released by MARRS.

Richard Harris ,,,,,,,McArthur Park later covered by Donna Summer
MacArthur's Park is melting in the dark
All the sweet, green icing flowing down
Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
'Cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never have that recipe again
Oh, no

Great song and brilliantly used in The Simpsons

Brian and Michael - Matchstalk Men and Matchstalk Cats and Dogs

A number one from back in 1978 - Matchstalk Men and Matchstalk Cats and Dogs was a tribute to the artist L. S. Lowry

SAMANTHA SANG - EMOTION

A wonderful ballad written by the Bee Gees featuring the late Barry Gibb on backing vocals. The only UK hit for the Australian signer Samantha Sang.
A version that I would also say is superior to the later cover version by Destiny's Child.
