Just watching a nature programme. I love nature programmes.
It's about the Bamboo Lemurs of Madagascar.
They are Lemurs that, as the name suggests, live on Bamboo as their main source of nutrition.
Sir David Attenborough informs us that bamboo is incredibly tough, almost impossible to digest, and the leaves are packed with deadly cyanide......

Why the feck did they start eating it in the first place???

Because back then McDonalds wasn't open 24 hours and they had to eat - Bamboo was there so they got involved.
