One for the GM Mizuno JPX850 Driver tester

I'm not using mine, results were never as good as with the X2 Hot driver.

My testing, though, was complicated by swing changes which affected my driving and confidence. Changing between two drivers wasn't helping so I've stuck with what I know. It's still my plan to give the JPX another go later in the year once I'm more confident with my swing.

I'm not using mine. It didn't give me any more distance than I get from my current driver and it felt, sounded and looked worse, in my opinion.

Like FD, I wasn't swinging very well any time I tested it and didn't play at all over winter, so my game may not have been in the right shape to get the most out of it. I'm sticking to my current driver until the season is underway and will spend a bit of time with the Mizuno once I have more time to play.

I'll give it a whirl later in the year

saw this echo'd on the mizuno forum...........after they were all wetting themselves on release.

Can Mizuno not make a good driver?

I think there were some who didn't take to the stock shaft. Some of the Mizuno Forum guys eventually got themselves fitted and found a better shaft option for the driver which made a big difference.

Strange time of year to do a test, cold, wet and no-one plays their best in the winter.

reading this thread and of course the review section and looks like nobody actually liked this club. It goes to show that despite being very expensive and a quality brand name it has not improved peoples game!

however good to see the honest feedback and I am sure mizuno will take that on board when making their new driver etc.

I think the time of year was just a factor in getting it tested and reviewed prior to the launch. Unfortunately for me, this was the winter I chose to bite the bullet and take a programme of lessons..... At the crucial stage of testing and writing the review I was struggling to put a consistent swing on the thing. :(

I still think once things settle down it has potential but a proper fitting (while swinging consistently ) is essential...

Release of the JPX850 was quite some time after the free testing. It was pretty bad timing as Ping and Titliest as well as others had there products on the shelves.

Edit, not really the point your making though.

Still using mine and it's here to stay!

I am certainly more confident with it in my hands than the Cobra it replaced!

Sorry, only just noticed this one.

Yes, I'm still playing with mine and reasonably happy. Since I did my own fitting, I'm also trying to hit up on the ball more, so slight swing changes also in there. The next month and hopefully better (and warmer) weather, will see me able to test if I'm longer off the tee, or not, with it.

Playing Worksop, Notts, Sherwood forest and Birkdale in the next 5 days, so dispersion will be noticed even more, I would have thought.

It's not in the bag right now but it will be, my new shaft has cleared customs so won't be far away and the adaptor is already here ready to be fitted. I actually put the Burner back in the bag on Sunday and for the first dozen or so holes it almost behaved, after that it was business as usual. All being well I'll have 2 shafts and the wrench with me at the Nairn meet if anyone wants a hit on the range.
