mate of mine sent me this link to a youtube video which had me in hysterics at the owner's desperation at how the action unfolds
I walk my dog (a mental wire haired dachshund) in richmond park and although he normally focuses his attention on squirrels and rabbits, given half the chance he'd have a pop at something bigger like this...

Didn't see that outcome coming. Thought one of the stags was going to have a go at the dog the way they were standing there menacingly. The guy had me in stitches trying to keep up with the escaping pack and the dog. Classic
 
That is great. I could easily see my Collie having a crack at rounding up those pesky large brown sheep!
 
The inaugural reindeer roundup competition goes wrong! Quite topical.

My Old Time Bulldog Arnold loathes squirrels and will do his best to follow them up the tree, horses and Deer dont bother him in the slightest, clearly he has the nous not to pick a fight with the big un's. Very funny video tho' I can feel the chaps desperation.
 
Yes typical dog.

Reminds me of ours. When she was still a puppy i was walking her at the back of Carrbridge in the Cairngorms one lunchtime. We came cross half a dozen deer and being a shorthaired german pointer she stopped looked at the deer in a way that said,what the hell are you lot, then took off chasing them.

Finally caught up with her 45 mins later covered in mud and exhausted.
 
We used to have an english sheepdog and it was crazy when it came to anything that moved. Charlie just didnt listen once the red mist had descended though he never bit, nipped or harmed anything/anyone. He was a brilliant dog but had the social skills of a drunk Oliver Reed.
 
Back in the hot summer of 76 I had a pair of greyhounds. 4-30 in the morning at a local parkland beauty spot me and HIDs were walking the dogs not a soul about so, unusually, we let them loose for a run. BIG mistake within seconds they were in hot pursuite of half a dozen deer that had been lying down in the braken unseen by us. The bloke in the video well that was me and it didn't end well either, makes me shudder to think about it now 30 odd years later. Just keep your dog on a lead.
