Just about to leave for Penrith then Loch Lomond. Have decided to pack my Asus (mini lap-top thingy) so if I can find t'internet up there (and have the energy) I'll keep you posted.
Anyone else going to Loch Lomond? We're planning to be there Friday (on basis crowd will be smaller) unless it's p****ing down in which case we could go Sat instead.

captain's log - stardate ..?
Greetings all from Newton Stewart - not a big place but first o provide wifi !- haven't had time to catch up with posts but here's a quick report.
had a good day at Scottish Open Friday and a brilliant day yesterday at Gourock - great weather (for once) and stupendous views. My score was pants but for once didn't really care it was so great to be out there. Did slightly better today in murky mist at Belleisle but couldn't hack the bunkers (yet another lesson required!) Also payed Penrith Thursday and amazingly missed the rain and had a decent round. So a pretty good holiday considering dubious weather.
sorry if we missed anyone at Loch Lomond - should have stuck GM on my head. (Good news - picked up a pair of ecco shoes for £35 - bargain!)
