OMG Alastair Forsyth's caddie Ian MacGregor dies at Madeira Open

I am struggling to understand why yesterdays Euro Tour Madeira Open event was completed.

Each to their own but I'd like to think I would have withdrawn.

The fact Forsyth pegged it back up again puzzles me even more though.....driven by the buck? A sad reflection of modern sporting life if so......

I'm sure the decision to go back out would have not been taken lightly

And i guess Alistairs decision was more to do with, 'Mac would have wanted me to finish!'

I haven't seen anything of Forsyth but I'd very much doubt it was driven by money, more likely a sense that the caddie would have wanted the competition to continue. Keep in mind it sounded like they had a very short time to consider and decide on the outcome so he was probably quite shell shocked at that point as well.

Forsyth was on his last putt on the last green wasn't he?
He won just over a thousand euros for the tournament. Probably didn't even cover his expenses.

I think he went out to finish because he felt his caddy would have wanted him to.

Extremely judgemental of the person to suggest it's all about money.

He stated that he did exactly what he believed his caddy would want him to do.

Rich coming from yourself.

Maureen this Maureen that.....

Personally there is no way I could have went back out after witnessing my friend meeting his maker......not a chance.Obviously Forsyth didn't have that problem.

Just seen the 9th fairway was that groups last hole of the day.

Regardless I could not have completed after watching my friend and caddy dying.

Not a chance.

Maybe its just me but dont think i would have been able to finish .. just a personal thought tho .. each to their own
