Many congratulations to Oli Fisher on his win at the Czech Open.
A well deserved win by a young fella from these shores.
Have to say though, the trophy has to be one of the naffest and cheap looking mantlepiece ornaments I've ever seen!

He was touted as one of the next big thing brigade a few years bavk, promptly lost his card and form.
Good to see him finally fulfill some of the promise.

I played with Ollie in a pro-am and apart from scoring a very nice 65 on a Championship course, he was a lovely down to earth guy and very likeable. I am delighted to see him win and wish him very well.

Did you bore him to death with your shaft knowledge as well??? :) ;)

Showed real character to come back from losing his Tour Card early in his career. A lot of young players come straight through the US colleege system (not Fisher, I know), full-time amateur circuit, play Walker Cup, then bang, turn pro next day. I often wonder how much experience of setbacks they've had and how they'll cope with them.

Well Fisher has proved he can, so cap doffed to him.

Plenty of players get touted as the next big thing. Paul Way was one who made a Ryder Cup team and then disappered into obscurity but the game is asadly littered with them. Even Sam Hutsby (sponsored by the might of GM last year) lost his card and struggled and he had some decent rounds and tournaments. The rewards are great but life at the other end is tough
