A group of us played it on the way home from Broadstone last year, its ok for what it is, no real stand out holes apart from the shortish par 4 where the tee is about 100 feet above the fairway, I suspect its ideal for groups, we didn't stay there but the bar was quite busy and the food was edible. The condition was fine for early season (the greens were better than Broadstones that weekend), you should have a good time.

BTW - Peter Alliss was in the pro shop the day we played, I believe he has an attachment of some sort.

pretty decent, but nothing super special.

I've played there 3 or 4 times and always enjoyed it. Good clubhouse and facilities. Can't remember food

It's what I would call a society course. Nothing special but has everything you need for a trip away, ideal for a mixed ability group. If you are going for the quality of golf though I would look elsewhere.

Just hope it is not wet.

It was supposed to be a top course, and was opened by Big Jack, Seve, Aoki and Bill Rogers. Unfortunately it has not lived up to its billing, and I wouldn't play it again. Liphook, Blackmoor, Hindhead and Hankley are just around the corner if you want a nice heathland course.

Hotel and facilities are good though, and we had our centenary dinner there. Easily held our 200, and the food was not bad considering the size of the party.

A group of us went a couple of times about 5-6 years ago. Had a great time - the hotel was pretty good, and the food. We enjoyed the course a lot; there are some nice holes, especially the one with a long drop from tee to fairway with a magnificent view into the distance. I believe Peter Alliss designed it .....

Not played there for a few years but remember it being decent enough. It gets really wet in winter but should be OK in July. I've never stayed there and doubt I ever will since I now live about a mile and a half away but I hear it's good.

This. It was quite good when first open but not as good as it thinks it is. It's a "£20 course". This was years ago though.

First played it when it was Japanese owned and had a hot bath, last played it two years ago. It had changed a lot in the 25 odd years in between. The clubhouse and accommodation was vastly improved, quite a nice family room, the food was pretty decent (we ate in the sport bar). It did rain on day two, but wasn't the bog that some mention - perhaps because it hadn't been raining on day one..... Although nothing special. we quite enjoyed it, but it may not be the quality of course you prefer Phil.

It's really good price for us to go away ( £99) for a cheap and cheerful nothing too serious

Got a lot more top quality courses planned throughout the year

This will be more about the company and the "bantz" :D

Our lot went there for a 3-dayer in 2014 and again in 2015.

The hotel and spa are pretty good but the course (particularly the greens in May last year) were awful - so badly in need of a cut and possibly the worst I played on all year - might just have been a bit of bad luck on our part though.

It's a nice place for a mixed group but there are better courses in the vicinity, although not with the hotel beside them, and at £99 squiddly-diddlys then it's not at all bad value for money.

With a spa there hopefully means there will be groups of doris' there as well which will hopefully liven things up in the evening. Lovely Jubbly
