Not sure which forum to post this on but I have found a very old golf book in pretty good condition. Does anyone know where I can get it valued ?
Its the 1939 English Golf Union Year book. Its fascinating looking at some of the adverts inside for greenkeeping machinary and adverts for Penfold Golf balls, woodall spa and Henry Cotton playing dunlop balls.

Put it this way mate, there's a 1993 edition for sale on Amazon and it's selling for £75!!!

If yours is a 1939 edition I reckon you may well have a useful bit of dosh tied up in it.
You planning on selling it?

Best bet for a valuation would be old book collectors or book auction houses. Other than that, I just don't know where you could get a valuation.

Leftie/Smiffy/Bob, can you remember how much you paid for your copy back then?

Its got the price on the front - it was two shillings and sixpence :)

1. you could wait for antiques roadshow to pass by,

2. if there are any uni's near you there will be book shops though it might be a bit too specialised for them.

3. ask at your local library or museum
