Missis T mentioned this morning the old fivers have to be spent by this Friday.
So she is having a root through her secret stashes. Lordy bloody Lordy. How many secret stashes do you need. Am paying for today's comp with an old fiver (she found). She found £20 in a bag she forgot about. So now ALL the bags are out.
Dont forget to spend your fivers and check your secret stashes.

My secret stash is a coins jar, full of old pound coins but think there is still plenty of time before they go out of circulation.

I went to the bank a couple of weeks ago to collect change for my workplace and amongst it was £1,000 in £1 coins and there was not a single new one in the lot!

Far from it
We do get Scottish notes down here and some shops, particularly with young or inexperienced staff may have never seen one and are naturally reluctant to accept them.

As an ex branch banker I was merely making the point that all banks will take U.K. Issues Notes and coin of whatever age and location and exchange them for new.

This applies equally to Scottish banks accepting old English notes .

No sleight intended old bean, your problem if you saw one 👍

I was given £240's worth of old fivers at the weekend as payment towards a golf weekend. How many people do you know that pay cash in fivers?

A trip to the bank is due before the weekend

So why did you call it Monopoly money if you did not mean to insult....old chap.;)

Read what I wrote, old fruit :)
I used the word "mistakenly" for a reason

Any unfamiliar note from any country is described as Monopoly money,
Not sure I can explain it any further 👍

Bottom line is that some shops south of the border don't like Scotish funny money.
Dont ask me why but they don't.
