I was lucky enough to receive a set of Ben Hogan apex II's from Slime, and now looking to add to them.

I've seen some persimmon woods and SW's on Ebay, but some are described as "3" or "4" on the shaft.

Anyone any have any idea as to what stiff is, numbers wise.

I'm guessing over to crow......;)

Gary is right for Hogan numbers, 3 is reg, lower is softer and higher is stiffer and I'd guess this numbering was used in general by others but it all comes down to the manufacturer, some simply said stiff or regular. You're lucky if you can find a shaft band still in place!

I just buy and try, they're so cheap it doesn't really matter.

Good to see you getting into the older clubs though Pete, are you tempted enough to put your name down for the Clitheroe day yet???

I'd love to matey, but hols at a premium.

Let me know if you see any other opens or "days", NW and maybe even midlands on a weekend.

Currently going through playing my mates (with adjusted handicaps) and will donate the proceeds to H4H, for each match I win - currently played 3, won 3.:)
