i havent picked up a club in 6 weeks due to first child being born and played a round on saturday with the lowest expectatiosn ever.

had no confidence in any part of my game, felt was hitting the ball terribly from the 1st tee to the 18th, it was only when we totted up in the bar afterwards that i realsied i'd got my best score in nearly 9 months.

not that i'm not pleased, but the weeks when i was going to the range 3 times a week and playing at the weekend seem to be slightly wasted!

thanks :)

it's kinda soul destroying as up to christmas i was quite religously hitting the range to try and embed some changes and practicing quite hard, so with a 6 week break was expecting a horrow show.

I was just curious whether anyone had had the same experience really?

I broke the radial bone in my elbow last April and was out for 7 weeks. 1st game back was straight into Sat medal and shot a 76 and got a nice little cut. Excellent I thought, the layoff has probably been good for me, unfortunately I never broke 80 again in a medal for the rest of the season :(
