Yep, I played my first ever veterans competition today! After close to two years of saying I will play I finally did, and to be honest I quite enjoyed it,bar the appalling weather

I ended up with 37 points after starting on the back 9 and scoring 21 points and, just as we turned, the heavens opened and we were quite lucky to finish, with the course really only just playable by the end. So a good 3rd place, good company and feeling like a spring chicken compared to some of the other guys - I'm glad I did it!

I think he was asking if your pp broke wind every time they picked the ball out of the hole or did they have one of those things on the putter

Don't take it too personally Chris when you, as a Vet, will now be accused on here of being the main cause of slow play, never letting anyone through, leaving pitch marks and divots unrepaired, not sanding divots on tees, being disrespectful to captain, committee, and juniors, ignoring (or lusting after) the ladies, not supporting the bar and/or canteen - at least with your own money :eek::eek:

At least, I know that that is not true :whistle:

:ears::ears:

What method do you use Del??

The standard one that most clubs have a guidance "flyer" for, or your own version?

:ears:

:p:p

I use a pitch mark repair tool or a pink castle tee to lift and close up the pitch mark, and then tap it down flat with the bottom of my putter. I am usually able to make an almost invisible repair as long as the pitch mark is reasonably fresh. A bit harder to do if it has dried out and gone hard! :)

Use the red tee markers then ;) :D
