Moving down to Whitstable, Kent in a month or so.
Anyone give me a quick heads up on :

Courses that are worth looking at with a view to membership.

Any decent teaching pros down that way.

Are there any decent club fitters/makers nearby

Would I be right in thinking you're in the Dartford area at the moment?

Personally, I'm not a big fan of the courses near to Whitstable, my favourite course not too far from there would be North Foreland, but it's a bit of a pain to get to and maybe a little too far.

I haven't played Canterbury golf course, I'd check that out, website looks decent but who knows?!

I've played Chestfield which is very near to you, it doesn't stick in the memory, but I preferred it to Boughton. I'd take a look at Chestfield and judge it for yourself.

I shot my lowest ever round on an 18 hole course at Westgate & Birchington, (a 10 over par 74...) but that tells you all you need to know about that...

I'd probably go for North Foreland but that's because my in-laws are in Broadstairs so I could easily drop the Missus off and go to golf!

Yep, member at Dartford.

Was thinking Canterbury, but a few of the vets at my place say its very hilly.

Guess i'll have to have lots of trial rounds.

Canterbury is a great course with a fabulous golf range attached. You have North Foreland, Royal Cinque Ports and
Princes not far away, if you want links golf although Foreland isn't exactly links. Sittingbourne is pretty good too as is Belmont Park (aka Faversham)

There's plenty of choice and some really nice tracks!
