Off the Tee

Hi Guys
Have struggled for years off the tee with a driver, have been using trusty old Callaway steelhead 3 wood for a while, last week had a lesson, the pro got me to try a Ping Rapture 3 wood, went just as far as my Srixon 506w driver without trying to knock the skin off it, titanium face etc, have heard the Callaway X Hot 3 wood is good, am looking for an alternative for the driver, playing off 12, any ideas or is it all in my Head!

i have a similar problem some days (i can be anywhere between 3 & 13 fairways hit per round). It tends to boil down to my rhythm more than the club. With a driver, my ego can take over and my swing gets quick. But that can get even worse when i try to smash a 3 wood as far as a drive....

I have heard really good things about the 2007 Callaway Big Bertha fairway woods http://www.callawaygolf.com/uk.CLUBS.FairwayWoods.BigBerthaFairwayWoods.html

They are oversized so should particularly suit someone who is looking to use the 3-wood predominantly off the tee!
