Typically of Odyssey the first thing of note is the quality of the components and the build. And compared to some of its competitors it isn't cheap but equally it is value for money.
The grip looks a little busy, with more strips than on my old 3ltr Ford Capri, but its shape fits the hand very comfortably. Looking down at the ball, one of the stand out features is the contrasting colours that make the ball show up so well. And then there's the leading edge that, again because of the colouring, stands out well and assists with alignment. The two alignment marks on the 'batwings' certainly do show up well, and the length of them does make a huge difference in showing when its not lined up right.
Balance is great, and it didn't feel like it was wafting around quite so much as my old Odyssey #5, centre shaft. And feel off the face isn't quite so, doughy, soft as the old #5 but equally there isn't a clicky feel to it. Putting with it, especially long putts, felt great with more of a feeling of stroking through the ball rather than hitting at the ball.
More long putts burned the hole, and were good for length, than I've experienced for a while, whilst the number of 8-10 footers bagged was up.
