Odyssey Golf - Marxman X-Act Putting Wedge . What do we think??

It is not the stick from my mates that would stop me using it but rather the space it takes up on my bag. I find I can do the job with a hybrid or fairway wood.

In any event, I hate bad marketing spiel. It is not a 'putting wedge' it is chipper, always has been and always will be and you can buy a perfectly reasonable one for less than £20.00.

If it helped knock shots of yours h/cap would you put it in ya bag

It doesnt matter what club it is if it knocked shots off and made me better id use it!! but i know that this wewdge putter thing is basically a 7iron with mallet back!

I wouldnt but my mate does. Can do the same thing with anythin from a 4 to a pw. Waste of a space.

Agree with everything thats been said. A marketing ploy to those who can't chip and pander for a recognised brand name.

Use a hybrid if you are that bad or better still get a short game lesson from your pro

I'd use a banana or something made by Dunlop if it helped my game, genuinely. BUT, personaly, I'd rather go and spend some time making friends with my 8/9 iron around the greens than resort to one of these.
Some guys use them very well, I think they are rather limited though.....like me taking out my 52 degree wedge just for the pesky 95 yd par 3 that falls in-between PW and SW. Today I went with the PW and hit it through the back....arghhh....

haha, last time I was at the range someone had one and was trying to play full shots with it. I don't know what he was trying to achieve, but he didn't hit one past 20 yards purely because he toped it every time.

Personally I wouldn't use one as I've tried a bog standard chipper and hated it.

I'm just watching the flow of thoughts on this and thinking if the same might have been said of a hybrid a few years ago?

Similarly, if Tiger suddenly pulled one out at Augusta (fnaar fnaar) I bet half the folk on here would buying one as rapidly as they could deploy the credit card.

Did Tom Morris et al feel the same about the demise of the mashie?

I don't see many bemoaning Solheim coming up with the Anser.

Anyone fancy going back to balata?

I'll reserve judgement and assume it's conforming.

Until then I think it's probably a good thing.
