Seen this story on sky sports earlier, how an 8 handicap golfer fared around the US open venue

Obviously towards US Open week the difficulty will be ramped up a lot, but how about the rest of the year? If it's 10 shots harder than any other course in the area, wouldn't Oakmont members mop up any Trilby Tour type competitions due to their over-inflated handicap?

I reckon I would comfortably be off 7.5-8.5 in the US system, just the way it works
Anybody know what the slope is at Oakmont?

Thanks...that makes the slope system a bit of a nonsense. My index is 8 and so I would get 10 shots going round Oakmont....and 9 shots going round my local 66's here!
TBh Chris no idea how the slop thing works.
My place is 74.1 and 137
Dornoch is 74 and 139
