Got me some spikeless oakleys in April

They claimed to have a 2 year waterproof warranty, I've only worn them over the summer, at worst on a dewy morning and I've ended up with wet feet, not soaked but wet socks type thing

They were a gift and I have no receipt etc, but I emailed them anyway as they said they might still be able to help

They replied and said I have to send the shoes to them and they'll basically let me know if they can do anything

My question is do I bother sending them, it'll cost me £6/7 to send them, what's the best I can hope for? 20% off another pair or something!

I'm almost tempted to send them just to see what they say but I'm not sure if its worth it

One would assume if they are leaking and have a 2 year warranty, they will send you a new pair. I wouldnt be happy with an offer of discount... Either fix my current pair or give me some new ones.

Just ensure you use a recorded method of delivery just in case they say they never arrived.

I'm sure they would if I had the receipt but sadly I don't

Wouldn't let that bother me in the slightest. you have a pair of their shoes! you are acting like they are doing you a favour! you have some of their shoes (irrespective of a gift etc) and they are not performing as advertised. they need to fix your issue!

I'd send them back. Without proof of purchase you rights are rather limited. But companies will often exceed the service required under the law and it sounds like they are giving you an option.

Worst case scenario they send them back to you and you are £7 down.
Best case: New shoes and possibly even a little extra for the trouble.

If the gift buyer paid by card they could provide proof of purchase regardless of a shop reciept and that would be more than enough it they insisted.

Good news, I've found the receipt!!!!!!

Bought from Canada though hmmmm they may work there way out of it that way lol

I've emailed them again with the news

Did they water come in through leather, stitching, sole or has it maybe went in between the lace and tongue or as is more common from the trouser bottoms onto the sock and down?

Lots of people assume shoes leak when in reality most don't, the water gets in through areas not waterproofed as highlighted above.

That said, if they leak then send them back.

I only wear shorts in the summer so couldn't be from the trouser bottoms

I just generally end up with wet feet no idea how its coming in as I say the wettest it's been while wearing them was on dewy mornings and one time it was overcast and we had 1 light shower

I have the ame issue with a pair of Footjoy M-Project shoes, last round in the wet grass my feet were soaked. now I could send them off under warranty but then I'd not have any shoes, so I'm thinking I'll just polish them and keep them for dry summer days.

This is kinda my problem, luckily (maybe) the weather seems to be turning so I can switch back to my adizeros (they're brown so don't look right with shorts)

I'm still awaiting a reply from oakley suspect they'll say somethng along the lines of "since they weren't bought in this country they can't help me" or similar

Hope not but I can be a bit pessimistic when it comes to manufacturers backing up warranties
