Oak Park

Played there a few years ago, I had used the 9 hole quite alot on evenings, quite a difficult track.

My last experience on the 18 was a charge of £32 for the round and 4 of the Tee's were just Dirt/Mud, could not beleive they still charged top whack when course was not in top condition.

Course is OK, some boring holes, some difficult and some good. Make sure the welcome is good, as found them to be a bit up their A**E at times.

Surprising enough I have not been back since last experience, so hope all has changed.

Oh, its a Crown Golf also.

Whats wrong with crown golf ?

Stevo,

I've just got a thing through the post for their offering a number of 2 for one and 3 for 2 green fees, free range card, discounts off meals etc. Let me know what its like and maybe we can get a group down there in the next few weeks (offers run out 31/5)

I was a Member of Traditions, as Company and customers was in and around area. As I lived in Farnham at the time, Oak Park was close by, so used my Platinum Card to play there a few times, my experience as a member of Crown was dreadful, so I pity those who just turn up. I joined Sherfield Oaks when I moved, as a stone throw away, was a member for a year, found weekend golf was a long hall, 5 hour rounds, always busy. 2 years membership with Crown was enough for me.

2 courses, me not happy. My Experience.

Hello Everyone,
Hey, which park you were talking about? can we play golf there?:fore: I know only it... Oak Park is a village adjacent to the western side of the city of Chicago in Cook County, Illinois, United States... It is the 29th largest municipality in Illinois as measured by population, and has easy access to downtown Chicago due to public transportation such as the Chicago 'L' Blue and Green lines, CTA buses, and Metra commuter rail. that's it...
if there is any park for golf then please give me full address of that park actually I am new in Oak park.

It's not the most enjoyable course, have played it a lot in my dad's work society. As others have said some nice holes, average holes etc.

Just be careful of the Tennis Courts on the right corner of the dogleg on the first :P Put my ball in there several times :D

quite a difficult track[/SUB]/QUOTE]

Especially the four holes up the hill after the turn.

Last time I played it the greens were just thawing and probably shouldn't have been in use so not sure what condition will be like. There's a few who have joined our place saying that its become a pay and play with a few members rather than a golf club with some green fees.

I've played there recently - it's pretty hilly and there are a lot of tight dogleg holes that you really need to know the yardage to the corners to score well on. Quite a tricky course and to be honest not that enjoyable when I played it, although I played very badly so that probably didn't help!

Oak Park is fine to play occasionally as it's nice countryside, nice views and some good challenging holes etc. But to be honest it's not a course I'd join as a member unless it's what my budget and golfing needs merited as it's a bit of a haul up some of the holes and others in the newer nine are a bit so-so. Also it can be very wet in autumn and winter and some of the holes get smothered in leaves in autumn - but these won't be issues for you at the moment. Enjoy.
