I was given a box of Titlist NXT Tour X and used them for the 1st time yesterday when I went out on a practice round, these things are like rocks!!Admittedly I have been playing Callaway Supersoft and Chrome Soft, but the last two weeks I have been playing ProV 1 and was not expecting them to feel so different.Considering the price of these they felt like rocks and off my driver and irons and had vey little spin around the greens.Very disappointed and based on the hype I was hoping these would be a good alternative to the mega expensive Prov's, made me realise, in my opinion, what a good ball the Chrome Soft and Supersoft are.Any one else found this?

never liked them TBH, the only time i would ever use one would be in winter if it was frosty, but only if i didn't have any topflights or pinnicles:rofl:

I think feel is very subjective but mostly over-rated. Once you gave struck the ball the physics of energy transfer, spin and geometry take over and feel is really just about how you feel about the strike, but he ball doesn't know.

The only way a ball can feel like a rock is if you mishit it.
They're all identical if you hit them out the middle.

What a load of rubbish.

Titleist NXT and all of its decendents have always been overpriced nonsense. Honestly would prefer a DT solo or a Srixon Distance. Then when you think of its actual competition its a complete and utter no contest.

AD333 Tour
Chromesoft
e6
B330s are cheap atm

all the above are so much better at the 25-30 mark

all the Nike offerings on AG are reduced for some reason, don't know what they're like though

Couldn't agree more. makes me laugh when a golfer spends the round duck hooking the ball yet won't use a certain ball because it feels a little "hard" or "clicky"

Get a grip

The RZN Black's are lovely!

Hey, you take that back. Why only the other week I was pitching onto the green of a par 4 in 7, and the softness of the ball I couldn't honestly feel and the and amount of spin I really could not tell I got from my Pro V1, really helped me get down for a very creditable 10.

I think you're confused.

You think that a perfectly struck golf ball can feel like "a rock"?
Maybe you don't hit so many out the sweetspot ;)

I have never rated nxt range of balls. Far better balls for the price as others have mentioned.

24 Bridgestone extra soft (urethane cover unlike nxt) for £20 is the best bargain out there at the moment. I am happy to use those in medals.

I wouldn't even use them in the winter, they're even harder when it's cold. Where ball manufacturers could gain is by bringing out a ball suited more to the club golfer with a slower swing speed who still wants a premium ball. I don't hit the ball as far as these days but I can still make it dance on the greens.

Several have done precisely that.

Srixon ad333 tour
Bridgestone e5
Wilson dx3 urethane

All are urethane covered balls but with a compression rating suited to a mere mortal swing speed.
You could also put the Callaway chrome soft and the Wilson fg tour in this bracket, though they are marketed more as a tour ball, they have low compression that makes them suitable for a lot of players.

Tend to agree. Not really a big Titleist ball fan overall. Always felt I can get equivalent balls for less money. Would sooner play the Dunlop DP1 than an NXT.

A lot of good options in the cheaper range of balls. I got given a dozen TM Aeroburner Pro and I actually quite like them. It is pretty dry around my parts so the greens aren't soggy, but I can still get these to stop dead on the greens and get plenty of spin from my wedges.

My pp who is off +2 found a "slazenger black panther" on rop of the ball cleaner on the first yesterday. I dared him to use it for the round. He did......

He shot 6 under, his yardages where the same and so was his ball flight. He was even getting some action out of it on the greens. Says alot to me

Yeah but it wouldn't matter to a hacker like him..... ;)

Reminds me of the time I was playing at Little Aston against a +1 in a team match. He thinned a tricky chip about 4 ft past the pin (in other words it was still a good shot), then banged his club on the floor as he admonished himself "Jeez Michael, you're hacking it round like a 2 handicapper..." :D

Needless to say I got a drubbing.

found a new model Pinnacle in the rough at our place the other day - knocked it out to the fairway to have a bash with it.

Proceeded to hit a 225 yard 4 iron to about 10 foot (it was downhill)
then also holed the putt.

Think I bogied it with my normal ball
