It's an ok ball...
I don't particularly like them that much, they feel a bit firm for a mid-range ball and I don't seem to be able to spin them as much as others in the sector.
Expensive, as they're Titleist, but if you can get them cheap then what's not to like....
If you're using the Chromesoft these will feel like rocks....
I wasn't blown away with them either. I gave the NXT Tour S a go after a Titleist fitter said they were very similar to a Prov1 (my normal ball). Felt pretty hard off the driver and irons, but not too bad off the putter.
In the same vein the old NXT was very different to the NXT Tour.
Personally I don't think the comparisons with Top flies are in any way helpful; but there are those who consider the ProV1x to be 'hard'.
There's no doubt that the move to soft feel balls (started by Srixon with the original green Soft Feel and now including Chrome soft, Supersofts, DT Solo True soft as well as the slight different Wilson DX balls, has provided the latest generation of golfers with a very different reference point but the original NXT Tour balls are not a hard distance ball, they play well and we're closer to the ProVs of their day than the new range carrying the same name.
As a mid-range ball I think they are ok. Prefer the NXT S and truth be told prefer the AD333 tour but get a sleeve and try some. One mans meat and all that
