I believe David Howell has an exemption of some sort, or so they were saying on sky the other day.

not aware of a medical exemption
His last win was the Dunhill Links in 2013,

No doubt as a past winner he will get an invite to the BMW PGA for as long as he wants one

He qualified for Portugal in category 11 which is those who finished in the top 110 of last years RTD

3 other people have qualified with medical exemptions (Paul Waring, Simon Dyson & Matthew Baldwin)

Paul Lawrie is exempt through wins and career money.

Brett Rumford down in 119 according to the European Tour site tonight. Often at the club working on his game and a nice bloke with a lot of time to help anyone on the practice ground at the same time. I know he won a while back and hoping that gives him an exemption still

I'm amazed by Eddie Peperell. He was so highly regarded. It shows how tough and brutal golf can be.

Yes he was but according to my brother in law, who is a member at Frilford Heath - Eddie's home club, he doesn't play in so many tournaments as others do. He's very much a home man and doesn't like to be away from his family for too long.

I think he's good enough to get back up there - if he wants to be of course!

Graeme Storm has lost his card by 100 euro. I know Graeme quite well and I bet he is devastated.

Maybe I'm misreading it but it looks like €2400 to me. Still only pennies in terms of what can be won for even a minor placing but if you're not good enough, you're not good enough.

Some of the guys at the bottom of the pile must be almost bankrupt...
Morten Madsen, who won a tour event a couple of years ago, played 29 events on a winner's exemption and won less than 20k ....😵

Got the info from here. Top 111 get their card.

I believe it is 110 not 111 so nearly €3000 short.

Not that it will make it any easier for him to take. Just shows the depth on the Tour these days that you can lose your card despite winning nearly €250,000 in a season.

1 guy in the top 110 doesn't count I think (affiliate member) so it went to 111

Gutted for Eddie Pepperell, he's originally from my old club Drayton and is also from my home town. Not sure that the number of tournaments comes into it though, he's just had an awful season. Think he had back issues in the early season but since then he's missed the cut so many times, 7 out of 8 in the last three months. This week sums it up really, 64 first round and in joint 2nd but then 76 second round to miss the cut, including losing 3 shots on the final 5 holes. The local paper is saying he's trying to get in to the Turkish Airlines in two weeks time but I would guess that's a long shot? Fingers crossed that either that comes off, or that he can bounce straight back.

250k euro
Probably just about break even for a trier on tour, hotels, flights, caddies wages, their flights hotel, food..
Tough almost at the top..
