Hi All,

I want to change my bag. At the moment I have a TM burner one that I got new for £40 at american golf but it feels very cheap, clubs get stuck, I pull one out and another follows it, the spacers are worn out after less than one year. I'm not a brand fanatic even if most bats in my bags are Mizuno so I'd like to get a bag from a company that does not make clubs, balls, etc..

I carry so it has to be a stand bag.

Any advice? I saw few adidas ones but they looked a bit tacky.

the 2 that are bag specialists as such are sun mountain and ogio, both make really decent bags (a lot of people rave about the sun mountain h2no if you want fully waterproof, but its pricey), far more likely to pick up an ogio a bit cheaper

AG had some nice ogio's in there at £70 ish yesturday, but im sure i was advised somewhere that most bags are made in the same factory in china, so you will see alot of common faults between them, at first i found this a bit weird, but then i looked at some wilson & cally light weight bags and my current tm bag and i saw common things between the three so it wouldnt suprise me. i know in my current trade, there are only 3 kit manufactures, yet around 30 - 40 brands on the market, they all have their kit made by one of these 3 factories to their own spec, so golf bags could be no different, its the same with motorcycle crash helmets, huge amounts of brands, very few actual manufactures

As Fundy said. I'm looking at a new bag. Rather like the look of the Ogio bag. Think its around £90 not cheap but a good bag for the money.

Personally I've found that neither TM or Mizuno make very good carry bags in terms of lasting well. I've had a Ping stand bag for a couple of years now and it shows no sign of wear at all. Best bag I've had yet.

One of my playing partners has had a Sun Mountain for a few years now and he is very pleased with that by all accounts.

my Mizuno GTO stand bag lasted 6 years and the strap is still going strong on another bag.

I've had two Mizzy carry bags (surprising, right? ;)) and both have been good quality. Would still have the 1st, but I gave it to Swinger for a sleeve of Z Stars that he won at The Grove Power Play because I'd just swapped my Fli-Hi 2 iron for the bag Region3 won at Blackmoor when I'd played at Murph's place in the morning before The Grove.

Confused? I am!

Maybe I just got lower end models, or was unlucky.

...and there are probably plenty of people out there who have had disappointment with Ping bags.

Totally agree... you could name any brand on here and find people who say it's the best they've owned, then before long someone will come along with a horror story.

All manufacturers have a few rogue products, some more than others. For me, the quality is as much about how a company responds when there's a problem. That's where firms like Ping really stand out in my view - great customer service.

Back to the OP, my Callaway carry bag is 7 years old and still in great nick, so would recommend their quality.

I would highly recommend Ogio bags, had a Gromm stand bag and an Atlas cart bag and both were superb. Currently use a Nike band and that is also very good and not covered in logos.

I have a Sun Mountain carry bag, and it is by far the best bag I have owned. Not cheap but well made and very smart in black, with red and white stiching. Got it for £109 off Amazon reduced from £129. Individual dividers to stop all the clubs coming out at the same time.

I bought that Mizuno bag Region3 won. If I had known it was going to end up with you I wouldn't have bothered.
